What an amazing Earth Day it was! MCE joined the fun across Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, and Solano counties, spreading eco-love and making a positive impact. Under the 2024 Earth Day theme “Planet vs Plastics,” many events emphasized reducing plastic pollution through awareness and action. In 2024, MCE attended more than 10 Earth Day events, meeting more than 600 people across our service area.

- Choose 100% renewable electricity with MCE
- Choose an EV, bike, walk, or use public transportation instead of gas-powered vehicles
- Reduce consumption from vampire appliances by using power strips with on-off switches

Did you know?
- During 31 of the past 43 days, clean energy generation exceeded electricity demand during part of the day; that’s compared to only seven days all of last year.
- Solar projects generated enough electricity to power millions of homes, and the amount of demand served by solar hit a new record, powering 86.4% of electricity demand.
- For the first time ever, battery storage discharge was the largest source of supply to power the grid at a point during the day.
