The charges on your electricity bill can be simplified into two categories:

  • Electric Generation Rates – MCE’s generation service replaces PG&E’s generation service on your bill. Generation rates vary depending on the service that you choose.
  • Electric Delivery Rates – PG&E delivery rates are the same for MCE and non-MCE customers.

Local Control

Rates are set by our Board of Directors, who are local elected officials that seek community input at public meetings before rates take effect.

Discount Rates

You’ll continue to receive any discounts that you’re enrolled in such as CARE, FERA, and Medical Baseline. There’s no need to reapply.
