Contra Costa

Sustainable Contra Costa

The Sustainable Contra Costa volunteer organization works to create a pathway toward a more sustainable and socially just future. Sustainable Contra Costa is one of the broadest reaching nonprofits in Contra Costa and provides many opportunities for community members to volunteer in sustainability projects.

Sustainable Rossmoor

The Sustainable Rossmoor community group promotes renewable sources of energy, water, and energy conservation; sustainable landscaping; and recycling. Sustainable Rossmoor offers virtual meetings during shelter-in-place. Visit the Sustainable Rossmoor website to learn more about their projects and how to get involved.

Marin

Sustainable Marin

Sustainable Marin connects Marin residents with community groups and resources to advocate for climate protection. Join an existing chapter such as Sustainable San Rafael, Sustainable Novato, or Sustainable Mill Valley, or start a chapter in your community. Other ways to get involved include joining a local project, attending events, or taking individual action.

Resilient Neighborhoods

Resilient Neighborhoods is a free online Marin-based program that helps community members cut their carbon footprints and get prepared for emergencies like wildfires and power outages. Over 1,500 Marin residents have already reduced more than 8.6 million pounds of CO2 pollution through the program. Resilient Neighborhoods can help you take action on climate change with a fun group of people. The next climate action workshops start on March 25th from 4:00-6:00 pm and March 31st from 6:30-8:30pm.

Napa

Environmental Education Coalition of Napa County (EECNC)

EECNC partners with local organizations to provide resources to support sustainable living and to cultivate an appreciation of the natural world. EECNC coordinates community events such as Napa County’s Earth Day and creates resources for environmental education. Napa Sierra Club Group

The Napa chapter of the Sierra Club offers many opportunities to give back to the environment. Ways to get involved include volunteering in the cultivation of plants in local parks, as well as reducing your carbon footprint through Regeneration Napa County.

Solano

Sustainable Solano

Sustainable Solano promotes ecologically regenerative and economically and socially just communities for a better future. Volunteer opportunities range from digging in the dirt, serving food, or conducting research to becoming part of the Sustainable Solano Network. Visit the volunteer page for more ways to contribute.

Solano Resource Conservation District (RCD)

The mission of Solano RCD is to protect the natural resources in Solano and surrounding areas and to provide education to children and adults on how to protect the environment. Get involved by joining one of the Solano County Cleanups, tabling at local environmental events, or joining in one of the many other volunteer events.
